Meet Mesa Belle!

This is my sweet /crazy/ independent/ destructive /and adorable two year old, whom I love so much! Today is her birthday. This picture was taken yesterday after she found a permanent marker. She was so proud of herself and came running in "look mom look" I was laughing so hard I didn't even have the heart to tell her it was a bad Idea. She still has remnants of it on her face today. Mesa has a knack for destruction....... It is what she enjoys most I believe. Yesterday she claimed my pantry and knocked down a 1/2 gallon of vegetable oil because she thought it was apple juice. The entire bottle split open and splattered! Have you ever cleaned up 1/2 gallon of vegi oil on wood floor and Carpet??????? Lets just say I had a panic attack! After hyperventilating and calling re-enforcement(Tyler) I soaked up all the oil with 6 big towels. Then spread a large amount of dish soap on the floor and with a dry towel and tried to break up the oil. Then I proceeded to mop my floor by hand at least 6 times! It sure looks shinny now! Tyler looked up online to find ideas on how to save my carpet. Kitty Litter....I thought that was a good idea. No... It only left a bunch of rocks in my carpet along with the oil. Then a lady at Tyler's work said to get Borax.... I had never heard of it. But I am very grateful for the suggestion. We are on round 3 of Borax and it is working great! You can no longer see the oil in the carpet but you can still feel it, So next I have to pull up my carpet and replace the pad underneath that area. Tyler says that I will laugh about it later. I know he right because this is not the first time she has had her destructive phase.
A few things I can laugh about now....
  • Desitin wiped on the bum of each one of her dolls.
  • Mesa's dresser painted with an entire container of Bag Balm.
  • Every single key of my Laptop Keyboard ripped off! Yes every one!!
  • Red Permanent marker colored all over my brand new fridge!
  • A package of red koolaid pored on the floor and then Evan helped the cause by holding the water button on the fridge down as water pored onto the floor w/ the koolaid
  • Shook a full bottle of white-out all over her bedroom carpet, bed, and walls!

I must say having Mesa Belle in our family is so worth the effort of cleaning up her messes. Because she is so dang sweet. She gives the best hugs and kisses ever. She keeps all of us laughing with all the silly things she does. We love you Mesa Belle!

Calista has a brother!

My sister Bettie had her little boy one month ago. With life being so busy I hadn't seen him other than in the hospital. So Bettie came to visit the other day. Nelson is so adorable, as you can see. Mesa was so happy to have a baby in the house. She wouldn't leave him alone for one minute.
